There are a lot of attorneys and law firms out there that provide services to small businesses and entrepreneurs. So why choose me over someone else down the street?
I believe that the most important decisions you make for your business are the people you surround yourself with. This includes not only business partners and employees, but also the people who provide your business with services and products. I don't want to just provide your business with legal services. I want to be someone whom you can trust with your business. Serving small businesses isn't just about documents and the law, it is about people.
I also think that one of the biggest reasons that small businesses don't enlist the help of a lawyer is the cost. Most business lawyers and law firms charge hourly rates on everything they do for the client. Who wants to call their lawyer when he or she charges you $20.00 just to pick up the phone? Not only is it expensive for you and hard to predict the cost until you receive a bill, but as a lawyer it puts a premium on inefficiency and me spending as much time on a task as possible. That is why all business services are provided on flat fees. You know exactly what you are going to pay ahead of time — no surprises.
I received my undergraduate degree in history from the Ohio State University and my law degree from Capital University. At Ohio State I was involved with, and a founder of, the Undergraduate Mock Trial Club. I also was a member of Strollers Theatrics, a student-run community theater group, and the Ohio State University Men's Glee Club. In law school I was active with the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity and was an officer of the local chapter.
I just finished serving as Vice President of Operations for the Young Professionals of Columbus and regularly volunteer with the undergraduate mock trial team at Ohio State. I am a member of the Ohio State Bar Association Young Lawyer's Section Council and the Franklin American Inn of Court, and previously served as chair of the Columbus Bar Association's Solo/Small Firm Committee.
I live in Columbus with my wife, two cats, and Great Dane Yeager. I am an avid Columbus and Ohio State sports fan and can be found cheering on the Buckeyes most fall Saturdays.
